I have been building and remodeling for the past 45 years. I have dealt with many realtors, and like most things, there have been good ones and not so good ones. One of the failings of the lesser realtors is not accepting and understanding the needs of the client. Too many want to dictate what a person should buy, or how their home must look prior to selling. Then, in looking for the place I wanted to retire my wife had a list of about 15 requirements for what she wanted. Quite literally I had looked at properties in eight states trying to meet her list of necessary items. I had all but given up. I happened to contact April, and although I didn’t have a formal agreement to use her as my realtor, with her very hands-on approach and her endless research trying to find the perfect property I knew I was going to use her for the purchase That is if I ever found something. Took me four years total, and one year working with April, but we finally came across one that likely hit 12 or 13 of my wife’s requirements. There was a good little bit of negotiating that April was a part of, and we very nearly were outbid by out-of-state purchasers. In the end we got the house and April has stayed in contact since, checking up on things. I do know the real estate profession and April is definitely a five-star agent. She made videos for me and sent me technical information on properties. April did everything I asked of her and I am very grateful, and quite easily can recommend her.

My family began searching for a home in the Puget Sound area while local home sales prices were shooting through the roof and homes were going for thousands (and even millions!) over their list prices. While we were very excited to find our dream home, April did not let us get carried away and make a purely emotional decision to purchase a home for a price that would not be sustainable in the long term. In addition to keeping us grounded and methodical in our search, April helped to show us the pros and cons of various homes and neighborhoods we considered. In the end, through April’s carefully crafted strategy, we were able to purchase the home of our dreams on Bainbridge Island. In addition to her strategic acumen, April was also incredibly responsive and service-focused and did video walkthroughs of several homes on short notice so that we could get a good feel for the homes and neighborhoods from far away (there was no time to view the homes before placing an offer). We worked with April Jeong-Callies to buy a place on Harstine Island in the summer of 2020 and she was the absolute best. Within a couple days of contacting her, she had setup a whole itinerary for us to view 10+ houses that we were interested in that Saturday. She helped us find a great property and get an offer accepted without ever being pushy. Once we had a contract, she remained incredibly dedicated to helping us, meeting us for the inspections, putting us in touch with a great mortgage agent to get a better deal, and helping to coordinate septic repairs and inspections. On several occasions she drove hours out of her way to check in on fixes to the property to make sure we’d be happy with everything. It’s been 3 years since we bought the house with April’s help and there are zero regrets. She will no doubt be our first choice for our next purchase or sale, too. I really can’t recommend April highly enough!
